Established in 1849, Rawalpindi Cantonment is the one of the most prestgious cantonments in Pakistan. It has a rich history and is known for its significant presence.Population -wise,it stands as the largest cantonment. Originally spanning 18,577 acres of land, Rawalpindi Cantonment underwent a division in 2003, and it now covers an area of 10,172 acres(41.16sq km).Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) operates as an autonomous body under the Military Lands and Cantonment Department part of Ministry of Defence, Government of Pakistan.
